The aim of our Association is to encourage patchwork and quilting in Belgium. The Dutch-speaking section of the guild was formed in 1989 and was quickly followed in 1991 by a French-speaking group thus forming the bilingual Belgian Quilters' Association. Presently, the Association has 1,350 members and it is thriving through the efforts and commitment of many volunteers.
The board of five members meets monthly and there is a general assembly of all representatives, co-ordinators and editors four times a year. There is a quarterly newsletter "Quilt Info" and an annual seminar for members.
Our annual exhibition, National Patchwork Happening, is organized in a different part of the country each year in the month of October.
